Bouclème Launch Evening

On Tuesday 17th March, I was invited to attend an evening event hosted by the lovely Michele Scott-Lynch, Founder of Bouclème* hair range. Find out what we got up to and the exciting collaborations we have planned in the future below!

After a long day in school, I quickly rushed home to get changed ready for an event I had been waiting weeks for – the Bouclème ‘curls redefined’ launch evening! After months of excitement and countless emails, it was nice to finally meet the creator of a UK based, eco-certified range that Thandie Newton is known to be ‘loving’ and raving about!

The event was hosted in The Union Club in the heart of Soho, where I found Michele, Rachel and Chloe from Flourescent PR, and Ana from chatting away in ‘the library’ meeting room when I arrived around 7pm. I was instantly given a warm welcome, and even though Michele had been speaking about her products all day to various members of the press, she happily talked me through her fantastic range.

So what is Bouclème?

Bouclème is a new range of all natural products that promise to deliver frizz free, healthy curls. The founder, Michele Scott-Lynch, first felt the need to create an effective hair range for curly haired beauties after her ‘2 beautiful curly girls entered the world.’ Rather than hating the curly hair they were born with, Michele felt ‘determined that they wouldn’t wake up every day feeling cursed’ as she did for so long (I’m sure many of us can relate).

Michele therefore went about creating a 3-step program, consisting of a Curl Cleanser, Curl Conditioner (also a leave in) and a Curl Defining Gel. Each of the products is completely free from any silicones, sulphates, petroleum (including mineral oil), propylene, glycol, parabens, PEGs, phthalates, synthetic fragrances, synthetic colours… or nasties to put it simply!

Instead, they are filled with active ingredients such as aloe vera, honey, argan and coconut oil, and let me tell you: the combination of the above as well as the other amazing ingredients makes for one delicious-smelling product range! All of the products are also ‘curly girl friendly’ meaning no stripping suds or coating conditioners; rather, purely moisturising and deeply conditioning products to truly bring the spring back to your curls.

The Future for Bouclème Collaboration!

Ana, Michele and Myself

What became abundantly clear as soon as I walked through the door is that both Michele and the lovely ladies from Flourescent PR are truly passionate about what they feel is an amazing, innovative curly range. And why shouldn’t they be? With features in Glamour, Cosmopolitan and Marie Claire all since the original launch in October, Bouclème has already done the seemingly impossible; taken curly hair care into the mainstream!

Michele, Chloe and Rachel

I see huge things for this range, and I can’t wait to get involved! Therefore I was thrilled when asked if I would like to test future products for thicker hair textures. Although the current range is designed for all curly hair types, I know myself and some of my curly haired sisters sometimes feel the need for a more hefty, thicker formula when styling our hair. Therefore, not only am I looking forward to trying something new with the current range, but I am so excited to also give feedback on future products for Bouclème. Watch this space…

The end verdict…

Overall, the event was a massive success, as well as the most relaxed and welcoming product launch I have ever been to! I left with a goodie bag with not only samples from the range (tutorials and reviews will be sure to follow as soon as my locs are out), but also an Aloe Vera juice by Simplee Aloe and a Burt’s Bees Lip Shimmer in Fig.

Safe to say I drank all that Simplee Aloe on the way home and used the Burt’s Bees lip shimmer the next day (see below).

Thank you so much Michele for inviting me to this fantastic event and for all of the goodies!

With love from London,
