News just in! I am now officially a Brand Ambassador for Motions! Find out what happened at our first meeting and what amazing things we have in store below!
On Tuesday 3rd March, I met with these lovely ladies in Busaba, Shepherds Bush, for our first ever Motions Brand Ambassador meeting. As opinionated women with a passion for haircare, fashion and beauty, we had each been contacted weeks ago about this fantastic opportunity, and even though we were following each other on social media, it was nice to finally meet these beauties in person!
The Motions team could not have chosen a better setting as Busaba is one of my favourite restaurants, so I had been eagerly anticipating eating their famous Thai Calamari while gulping down a delicious Guava Collins ever since receiving my invitation. Seriously – if you are a foodie like me and ever come to visit London, make sure you make time to visit this restaurant chain – you will not be disappointed!
But before this post turns into an open love letter to the creator of Busaba, let me get back to why we were there…
When I was younger, I remember Motions being the bright yellow bottle that caught my eye as soon as I entered my local Afro Hair shop. It was a product range I used religiously while my hair was relaxed, however I had never thought to use it after going natural.
A LOT has changed.
Motions has undergone a total rebranding, and now aims to accommodate ladies of all hair textures who want to care for their hair. This includes creating a new ‘Natural Textures’ range packed full of moisturising natural ingredients for ladies with curly, kinky or transitioning hair. Enter me – a self confessed product junkie!
As if they had read my mind, Yolanda (@Yolandaas) and I were greeted with a bag full of Motions products to review! Unfortunately, as I have just had my hair put in faux locs, receiving products to review could not have come at a worse time… however I am looking forward to trying these out as soon as I take out my locs in a few months time!
Once Andrée Marie (@andreemarie) arrived we all ordered our food. As always Busaba didn’t disappoint, as the flavours of the food were just as deliciously authentic as when I visited Thailand last year. Once Osa (@SincerelyOghosa) joined us from the Nike event she was invited to – and we had taken enough pictures, of course – it was time to get cracking on the meeting.
Tanya and Becky – representatives of Motions UK – explained that as brand ambassadors for Motions, we would be able to attend plenty of events (such as Africa Fashion Week, sponsored by Motions this year) as well as being the first to review and try out new products. As we each have a substantial social media following, we will also be able to run competitions and have plenty of product giveaways, so watch this space – there will be plenty of opportunities for you to try out the new Motions products too!
Therefore, be prepared for plenty of YouTube tutorials, reviews and collaborations as well as product giveaways and event coverage over the next few months. Who says I don’t spoil you!?
We all had so much fun and, as always, it was so empowering to meet with other driven, confident women. I’m excited for what the future has in store!
With love from London,
